RAW Tokyo in Akasaka.
Named one of the top 20 food destinations in Canada, the RAW Almond pop-up restaurant is coming to Tokyo from October 7 to 15.
The food is avant-garde and mixes Canadian and Japanese ingredients and techniques to make something very special. The setting is intimate with only 20 seats per meal, and everyone eats together. The dinner is about going on a journey to push your senses and expectations on what a dinner experience can be. We eat at the same table because we are all collaborators on the same journey. Without inspired spaces the food can be anywhere, without inspired food the space is nowhere.
Chefs were: Mandel Hitzer (www.deerandalmond.com) and Takahiro Matsuyama (www.tk-pino.com)
It was a great 12 course tasting menu!
The space was entirely transformed by the collaboration between Joe Kalturnyk, co-founder of RAW:Almond, Studio RAP from the Netherlands, and Tokyo based design office, frontofficetokyo.

New tune by Cloud Hands Project, “Life’s a Dream.”
I’ve been self-medicating with music, just so much weird shit going on, and it really helps shed the static.
Thanks for listening!

The Summer of Love, 1967…
The seeds that were planted in the late 60s and liberally fertilized with LSD have grown wildly and out of control, but back then it was all good. And it seems like yesterday…
Is there any way to do some judicious weeding and pruning?
