After ten years, Christopher Dolder (a Martha Graham soloist) came back to the scene of the original lot. Starting with “grubbing” the land of cane grass and heavily pruning the macadamia nut trees, then grading the land in preparation for building.
But before construction began, Christopher left to teach modern dance at SMU. Talk about eclectic!
We did some work and then hit the road…

The construction at OGG a.k.a Kahului Airport will add parking, setting it up for more international flights.
The cardboard covers the grass/weeds and then the woodchips covers the cardboard, smothering everything underneath and adding nitrogen to the soil. This land was first taro with the Hawaiian, then sugar cane, pineapple, and macadamia nut, seriously depleting the soil because of Western cultivation practices.
The same Western Culture encourages this sort of disruptive behavior. He shouted about his “religion,” verbally assaulting people who just want to be left alone.
Lei of Aloha, the fundraiser for Pā’ū O Hi’iaka halau, directed by Kumu Hula Hōkūlani Holt-Padilla featured art, food, dancing, and music. Louis from Osaka, played some heartfelt original compositions.
