Heat Seekers, again…

Posted on 02.21.21 under Uncategorized

Re-imagining of the original Heat Seekers with updated lyrics.

lyrics

Heat seeking flying south, chasing the sun
Are you the only one, on the run
Gold diggin’, back stabbin’, deed was done
Am I the only one, having fun

Heat Seekers beauty fades
Heat Seekers beauty fades
Heat Seekers beauty fades
Heat Seekers beauty fades

Rainmaker hear him boast, howl at the moon
I smell sucess on your breath, my young tycoon
She’s lovely on the dance floor, dollars are strewn
But when you touch her she’s a bursting balloon

Heat Seekers beauty fades
Heat Seekers beauty fades
Heat Seekers beauty fades
Heat Seekers beauty fades

There’s nothing they can’t have, so why should they pay
The lust for more and more leads them astray
They weaponize the law, the poor are their prey
And party in their house of moral decay

Limbic Zone

Posted on 02.18.21 under Uncategorized

Emotional life is largely housed in the limbic system, and it critically aids the formation of memories.

Septal nuclei: a set of structures that lie in front of the lamina terminalis, considered a pleasure zone.

We’re just tourists in the Limbic zone
We threw the dice, but our bet was blown
It’s all fun and games until we lose
Then we cry and claim abuse

There are highs and lows
And love that comes and goes
Abandoned embryos
All things must decompose

Seduced by a wanton smile
Fishnet stockings never out of style
You found pleasure climbing to the top
With no one telling you how to stop

There are highs and lows
Pure joy of afterglow
Perfumed like a rose
And everybody knows

Your moods ran hot and cold
With tantrums to behold
Drama for breakfast and dessert
And then you played the introvert

There are highs and lows
And love that comes to blows
So don’t hold that pose
Your soul will decompose

Corrupted in a storm of hot consent
Bankrupted lust spent instead of rent
Discharged passion spewed in the dust
If only I had not betrayed your trust

There are highs and lows
Pure joy of afterglow
Perfumed like a rose
And everybody knows

There are highs and lows
And love that comes and goes
Abandoned embryos
All things must decompose

She wants…

Posted on 12.31.20 under Uncategorized

The last song of 2020.

She Wants

There’s a story she’s been told
There’s a dream that she’s been sold
From an image on a screen
And a photo from a magazine

She wants to drive
She wants to feel alive
Spit out her bridal reins
Sell off her golden chains

Run from sorrow run from shame
Sunshine people can’t stand the rain
Triggered by an ancient pain
Captured in a place of blame

She want to fly
She wants to say goodbye
To the past she puts behind
To the contracts she has signed

She wants to drive
She wants to stay alive
She wants to fly
She wants to say goodbye

There’s a story we’ve been told
There’s a dream that we’ve been sold
Times we wasted chasing kicks
Looking for the next quick fix

Ice on the skylight
Snow on Fuji-san
Last day of 2020…
