Dog Eaters

3rd session is still not charm

But, I’m starting to regain the feeling in my hands and getting my timing back.

Back in the saddle

It’s been over 3 years and Japan is getting back to normal after COVID. This was my 2nd session back at glassblowing. It’s kinda like riding a bike, but details have to be remembered and the hands need to get back into shape. I think it’s going to take at least a couple more sessions to really start to feel “one with the glass again.”

Time Left Us

Retrace the steps
Along the road we’ve walked
Open the doors
To the memories we’ve blocked
The passing years
As the seasons start to warm
I hide my fears
of the coming storm

You say
Time out of mind
Oh
Time left us behind
You say
Time out of mind
Oh
Time left us behind

Walk to the edge
of the swiftly rising sea
The tide is coming in
Our footprints but a memory
And in our dying breath
Last thoughts of the ones we loved
Vows promised in the past
Extinguished all too fast

No Dreams

Hand me a beer and a cigarette
I need you near me to help me forget
You told our secrets to our lasting regret
We can get caught now, not now, not yet

You can come back to me
That’s not reality
I can’t sleep
There are no dreams to keep

I stole my name back from the avant-garde
If they take me down I will die hard
Give me a bandaid and a hallmark card
My wounded inner child is ancient and scarred.

You can come back to me
I have to disagree
I can’t sleep
There are no dreams to keep

It was a privilege and honor to write the first issue of the Fear City comic series, THUMPER for Stephen Bliss. If you like Gotham, Joker, and Sin City — this story takes you one step further into the “danger zone…”

Stephen Bliss was the Senior Artist for Rockstar Games from 2001 to 2016. A highly acclaimed artist, muralist, and illustrator originally from England and currently based in New York, Stephen has cultivated an illustrious career spanning over three decades and three continents. As Senior Artist at Rockstar Games, Bliss is attributed with establishing the highly recognizable illustrative style for the multi-billion dollar Grand Theft Auto franchise, the most lucrative entertainment product of all time. His artistic genius has also extended to other highly lauded games such as The Warriors, LA Noire, and Red Dead Redemption, producing game box covers, international magazine covers, posters, billboards, and promotional merchandise that continue to captivate audiences. In addition, he his art has also graced album covers for the likes of Massive Attack, and movie posters for the like of Atomic Blonde (Charlize Theron).

Following his departure from Rockstar in 2016, Bliss has devoted his energy to the pursuit of fine art, holding solo exhibitions in London, New York, and LA, and displaying his talents as a muralist on projects in NYC, Miami, and Guam. His latest project, Fear City, a remarkable NFT series on the Ethereum blockchain, comprises six characters with 3333 unique creations. Fear City has grown to include virtual reality social media filters, web 3 clothing, and “real life” projects, including a merch drop collaboration with Jeff Staple and an upcoming Fear City comic series with Scout Comics.
