Dustin @ Asagiri Jam

Mt. Fuji looms, but in a friendly way over Asagiri Jam. Dustin has played a few outdoor festivals in the States, but this is his first Japanese music festival.

One of the most interesting things about this festival is the scarcity of staff. Also, absolutely no security people in sight. Zero. If this is not a high level of civilized behavior, I’m not sure how much higher it can get.

Festive inflatables. And Dustin.

Campground closest to the stage. There were many!

There was no THC in this booth.

Dustin played a solo marathon 100 minute set at Soup Ochiai on Sept. 1, 2012 without a break. A powerhouse performance. This is a small segment.

The music for this Uniqlo CM was created by Dustin. On air from September 3, 2012 and playing in all Uniqlo shops nation-wide in Japan.

Spin Magazine rates Dustin with the alltime guitar gods

Posted on 05.06.12 under Dustin Wong, Dustin Wong

Check out the May/June 2012 issue of Spin Magazine as they rate the best guitarists of alltime!

A very subjective, almost tongue-in-cheek of all-time guitarist rating. Dustin is high on the list!

But note that near the bottom, you have post-sobriety Eric Clapton, the “Average Guitar Store Employee,” and the “Average Guitar Store Customer.” It’s still a lot of fun.

Dustin Live @ Tower Records, Shibuya

Posted on 04.15.12 under Dustin Wong, Dustin Wong

Tower Records, Shibuya is the largest Tower Records in the world with 9 floors of CDs. Japanese crave authenticity in music and actually buy CDs. Retro-revolutionary thinking…

With two members of the Strange Kinoko Dance Company. They’re big fans!

With Oshi Kunii, Dustin’s Japanese label & management, Plancha/Art Union.

EA, the opening act.
